“I very nervously went to my first buggy boot camp session with Donna in January 2016. I had put over 4 stone on during my pregnancy and was extremely unfit. Donna was very welcoming and friendly to me and my little girl who was only 3 months old at the time. I really enjoyed the session and loved the way Donna would help out with trying to settle the little ones to allow us to continue with our workout.
Donna kept me motivated by making each session different. I loved them so much I attended come rain or shine (or snow!). The scaling options allowed me to continue to work hard but adjust anything where I was struggling too much. Donna caters for all abilities including those trying to get their fitness back. Her sessions have helped me regain my fitness to a level where I have now moved up to attend her more challenging Metafit classes.
Donna helped me to understand the changes that can happen to your body during pregnancy and giving birth I had a straightforward labour but yet I had no idea that I had Diastasis Recti. In fact, I had no idea what it was until Donna spoke to me about it and check my abdominal area. Once I was aware of this, I concentrated on the exercises that would help to rectify this, under Donna’s guidance.
I also attended Donna Pilates course which was invaluable to me. Due to my weight gain my breathing had deteriorated and I had to start using an inhaler to control what is usually mild asthma. The way Donna explained the breathing techniques during the Pilates course has helped me increase my stamina while exercising but it is also something I have been able to incorporate into my day-to-day life.
I feel very loyal to Donna and still travel from Hartlepool to Stockton to take part in her exercise sessions. She has helped me to regain my fitness, increased my self-belief and confidence but also encouraged me when I have found it really tough or had a bad day (sometimes bad week). In the last 20 months I have known Donna I have totally changed my eating habits and found a way to lose weight without taking part in a fad diet. To date I have lost almost 4 stone, I feel very proud of my achievement and Donna should as well because she has been with me from the start”.
